We are a wildlife rehabilitation centre based in Phalaborwa.
We hand rear orphaned wildlife and prepare them for release, treat injured, sick and poisoned wildlife and return them as fit healthy animals back into the wild.
Although we are a newly registered Not for Profit Company we have been rehabilitating wildlife for over ten years (only three years in Phalaborwa) and have self-funded our operation in the past. There has been a significant increase in the number of animals being brought to us and we are no longer able to fund their care all on our own and so ReWild was born.
We are one of the few Wildlife rehabilitation centres in South Africa that specialise in bat rehabilitation. While we care for all wildlife species in need, we also have specialist facilities that cater for the unique requirements of bat rehabilitation.
Our interest in helping bats is not only from a wildlife rehabilitation perspective but also in helping bats in general. We give advice on excluding bats (relocating them out of roofs) as well as doing educational articles and talks on bats. With our bat rehabilitation experiences we bring a whole different aspect to bat education where we can share insights into behaviours in bats seldom witnessed by humans.
If you would like to book a bat talk please contact us for more information.
If you have found an injured or orphaned animal please contact us, phone rather than use email or social media as a quick response often makes the difference between life and death.
