Fully sponsor or partially sponsor a project:
Project bat track
phase 1 Funding required: R35 000
Project bat track will
be using very small radio tracking transmitters that will be attached to hand raised bats on release. This will allow us to monitor
their success or areas of difficulty in adjusting to life in the wild. The results of this study will enable us to measure the success
rates of release based on methods of release preparation. This will give us the information to ensure that these bats are properly
prepared for life in the wild before they are released and by sharing this information with other rehabilitation centres we can improve
the welfare of hand raised bats everywhere.
Post release monitoring of hand raised bats has been done for small bats of Vespertilionidae
family, these studies have changed what was previously considered sufficient release preparation for these bats. No post release studies
of hand raised bats have been done for larger Vespertilionidae bats or for bats of the Mollosidae family. These bats most likely require
different release preparation to ensure survival and reintegration into wild colonies (particularly the Mollosidae bats due to their
complex social structure as well as being open air flyers).
Project bat education Funding required: R5 000
We do fun and educational talks on bats for groups of 10 or more people. We intend offering these talks
to school children in the near future. These talks are offered at no charge in the interest of promoting bats and helping improve
their image. We offer these talks for free in the interest of conserving bats. Unfortunately there are costs involved. The funding
for this project goes towards covering the costs of a projector, travel and printing of hand out information.

As a new not for profit company ReWild NPC has the challenge of surviving
the first 5 years of its life. Just like any other company ReWild NPC needs to establish itself and grow into the organisation of
its founder’s vision.
As wildlife comes under more and more pressure from urbanisation, habitat destruction, poaching and the day to

You can be an integral part of ReWild NPC’s
success and ensure that ReWild NPC is here to help the birds and animals in need.
